While everyone is waiting for the launching of Nintendo’s Wii, Microsoft’’s Xbox 360 has been inside the living room of millions of household worldwide for over six months now. Needless to say, no matter how much secrets have already been revealed about Wii, it doesn’’t spare Nintendo’’s video console to be included in the wait-and-see product list.
It seems that Microsoft already has an exciting year planned out for its new Xbox console. Top of its latest offerings is the confirmation of a HD-DVD add-on for its 360 unit as well as the announcement of its top new games, including the latest Halo and more Grand Theft Auto games. On the other hand, it is obvious that Wii was specially built by Nintendo for pure fun. It will not come as a surprise if a lot of people will jump on the Wii bandwagon for merely trying something new. Also, with its very cheap price of only $250, Nintendo doesn’’t seem to be interested with the pressures of competition from its rivals.
Unless you’’re an experienced and die-hard gamer who is very particular to good graphics, 360 seems to be the perfect console for you. Although both consoles have backward compatibility, Xbox only offers limited games compared to the wide variations offered by Wii. Added features, accessories, and games will surely come in the future from both consoles. Let’s just wait till Wii hits the store this holiday season so we can finally compare these top game consoles on a first hand playing experienced.
